Let's say you are coming down here to escape an extremely busy life in which you are always bound up in a three piece suit, or other uncomfortable clothing. What a joy it is to let it go for a while, and to enjoy the sensation of gossamer fabric, of the sun and the wind, on your body . You do not have to dress up much in St. Barths, it is a casual place. And, as one would expect, the local choice of bathing suits, pareos, and casual clothing is excellent.
 But there is another good reason to come to St Barths without a lot of clothing. Think about bringing an empty suitcase. It is a French and Italian fashion paradise. The selection is great, and the prices are duty free. You will find most of the world's most famous designers represented in local shops, and many of the leading French and European lines, which may or may not have made it yet to America. |
