Poui, or Trumpet Tree
 (Tabebuia Pallida)

A decidious flowering tree, the poirier, as it is locally called, is originally from tropical America and is spread out over much of the island. This medium-large trees mainly flowers from April to June. Its pale mauve, rose or white flowers, depending on the species, are a spectacular sight to behold. Though well adapted to the dry climate, the poirier does not resist wind well. |
