Hibiscus (Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis)      Originally from Asia and the Pacific islands, this flowering shrub blooms throughout the year. Its presence is common throughout the Caribbean where it is often used as hedging. Its large and spectacular flowers bloom for only 1 day. A number of different hibiscus varieties exist in the tropics and their color can vary from species to species. The single-flower species are the hardiest.
